Rap Is Poetry (rip)! Comes to Collingwood for National Poetry Month

Barrie’s Poet Laureate, Tyneisha Ternent will be hosting a poetry show at the Simcoe Street Theatre called RIP! Rap is Poetry in celebration of National Poetry Month.

This family-friendly show was curated by Ternent aka Ty the Poetess as she joins forces with Collingwood’s Poet Laureate, Jillian Morris to find local artists to work together to showcase the relationship between rap and poetry. Local artists will be featured in this collaborative event.

Expect to be wowed by spoken word, dance, visual arts, and rap all under one roof. The best of Simcoe County talent will be hitting the stage for an unforgettable poetic experience.

The RIP! Rap is Poetry event takes place on April 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Simcoe Street Theatre.

Come out and support our tremendous local talent with this marvelous opportunity to celebrate the expressiveness, delight, and pure charm of poetry in all its forms!
