Council & Community S.P.A.R.C. in the Park events encourage residents to come chat with Council

Mayor Hamlin and Members of Council will soon be coming to your neighborhood! The Town is introducing a series of Council & Community S.P.A.R.C. (Speak. Participate. Act. Reach and Connect with Council) in the Park events, where residents of all ages are invited to come chat with members of Council, about municipal matters residents want to talk about in their neighbourhood.

The first S.P.A.R.C. in the Park will be held Wednesday, July 26th from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Central Park Outdoor Rink. (Rain location: Curling Club). This first meeting is generally for residents living in the south-east part of Town; however, all are welcome. There will be family friendly activities and refreshments provided. Dogs are also welcome, but please ensure they’re on a leash. Bring your own lawn chair and bring your questions and ideas!

“The Council & Community neighbourhood event idea stems from comments I received from many residents last summer. Residents told me that they want to hear more from Council and better understand the matters Council are discussing.
I also heard that some people are just looking for ways to ask their questions in an informal manner, so I thought, what better way than to organize neighborhood-oriented events, where residents can ask Council about matters that mean the most to them.”

Mayor Yvonne Hamlin

The next S.P.A.R.C. event time, date and location are to be determined. If you have any feedback on this event including ideas for future Council & Community events, please email communications@collingwood.ca.
