On September 30, meet your local farmers and celebrate agriculture in The Blue Mountains! Tour 5 local farms and learn about the work, knowledge & investment required to run a modern farm. Enjoy various vendors, activities, demonstrations and free fun for the entire family.
The Town of The Blue Mountains is excited to announce the launch of a new agricultural event this fall called “Open Fields: The Blue Mountains Farm Tour”.
The free, self-guided farm tour will give participants a chance to visit a variety of farms throughout the community, meet local producers, and learn firsthand about the processes and work that goes into bringing food from farm to table. This free, family-friendly event is scheduled for Saturday, September 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine.
Each farm tour location will provide educational tours, workshops and demonstrations, with some stops offering additional vendors, live entertainment and fun family activities. The farm locations will be announced in early September.
“This event is a true celebration of our local agricultural community. We thank our producers for welcoming the public onto their property, and we’re excited for residents and visitors to experience and learn about farming and agricultural practices firsthand.”
Mayor Andrea Matrosovs
Open Fields is a free, rain-or-shine event that is open to all members of the public. Visitors are encouraged to wear proper footwear for a day on the farm.
