The Collingwood Club (formerly known as the Leisure Time Club) is set to transform into the ultimate Christmas destination this December. Club members and the community are invited to immerse themselves in a series of delightful events and offerings, from the much-anticipated launch of an Annual Christmas Dinner and Dance to Cookies & Carols.
The Annual Christmas Dinner and Dance is scheduled for December 2, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., open to members and the community, promising great food, and music.
A New York whole roasted strip loin dinner is being catered by the famous local Burger Bob, complemented by musical delights from Ken Lindsay, Big Event Entertainment. The event is made possible by Club volunteers and sponsors including Techie Nesters, a company dedicated to bringing joy to older adults.
For families and friends looking to bake up some holiday joy, the Club’s fully equipped kitchen can be booked out to groups. The Cookies & Carols initiative is perfect for those who want to bake with others but don’t have the space while enjoying the festive holiday spirit.
“Imagine the scent of freshly baked cookies, the sound of carols, and the warmth of shared memories with friends or family across generations. That’s the experience we aim to offer with this initiative.”Louise McCartney-West, Club Board Director
With a rental rate of $25/hour (minimum 3-hour booking), both members and non-members can enjoy a cozy, carol-filled communal baking experience. Cookies & Carols is a fantastic way for guests to enjoy an afternoon or evening of fun as a new holiday experience, with cookies to exchange at the end of it all. Guests bring their own ingredients.
Reservations for events and kitchen rentals are now open. The Club encourages early bookings to ensure availability.
The Club is always exploring new opportunities to grow its membership and the holiday season is a wonderful time to discover programs and activities The Club has to offer for older adults. The Collingwood Club is a self-funded facility relying on membership ($35/annually), activity fees and financial contributions from sponsors.
For detailed information or to secure a reservation or sponsor an event, individuals are encouraged to reach out to Claudia at The Club at 705-445-9685.
