Master Mobility & Transportation Plan Public Information Centre

The Town of Collingwood (Town) is experiencing significant growth and is anticipated to reach a population of 42,700 by 2051. To compensate for this proposed growth, the Town is currently undertaking a Master Mobility and Transportation Plan (MMTP) with their consultants EXP Services Inc. to enhance our existing transportation network. The MMTP will provide the long-range planning necessary to identify needs, establish priorities between vehicles, active transportation (e.g., cycling, trails) and transit, and provide a planning framework for future infrastructure improvements and network development.

The MMTP will provide strategies for addressing localized problem areas or desired enhancements within the larger transportation network, as well as crafting policies both for effective management of the network as a whole and for evaluating ongoing requests for traffic calming and controls.

The Process

This study is being undertaken in accordance with Approach #1 of the Master Planning Process, as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) (March 2023). As such, the MMTP will generally address Phases 1 and 2 of the MCEA process and will recommend transportation infrastructure projects that will be identified within the MMTP report.

A Public Information Centre (PIC) is being planned to present and gather feedback on the MMTP study process, the goals, and objectives of the MMTP, existing travel conditions and community characteristics, community input on transportation infrastructure in the Town, as well as next steps in the MMTP process. PIC #1 will take place as follows:

Date: Monday, March 25, 2024
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste. Marie Street Collingwood, ON, Community Rooms B & C

The PIC will provide an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to provide input and comments. Please submit all comments on PIC #1 by April 15, 2024 on the project’s Engage Page
